Ghost was adopted on March 26th, 2012 from LAP (League of Animal Protectors). After a Harley ride, we ended up at Lee Harvey’s, a bar/restaurant/ in south Dallas. The bar is unique because it has a large double gated outdoor area where they allow dogs off-leash on Sundays and on-leash any time. Rescue days are also common and that is how we found Ghost.
Ghost was part of a litter of seven pups whose mother had been rescued by LAP. They were just at weaning age. I had not planned to adopt that day but I had been talking about it with myself for quite some time. I avidly participate in a rabbit rescue and have seven rabbits at my loft, sometimes less, sometimes more depending on Foster situations. The rabbit rescue I volunteer with is Wild Rescue. Whether I found Ghost or Ghost found me remains a quiet debate and one that really matters not. We gravitated to each other. I picked him up and I knew he was coming home with me. I have not had a dog in my life since I was a teenager. It was time.
LAP got my paperwork together and we decided on the next day, a Monday, for the home inspection. Ghost arrived with his rescuers at around 6pm that day.
At the time of this writing, Ghost is about four months old and continues to amaze. He is a constant companion whenever I go somewhere he can go and I find I plan my days around where I can take him.
I cannot wait to see him grow.
I am probably less interesting than Ghost. I work as a Linux/UNIX Administrator and DBA for Realpage, INC in Dallas, TX. Because I am ADD, I also DJ on the weekends and own a photography studio in downtown Plano, TX called DFWPhoto
